Santa PAWS Fundraiser

On Sunday November 29th, Big Sky Golf Club hosted the Santa PAWS Fundraiser. The event featured a Silent Auction as well as photos with Santa for locals & their pups! All proceeds from the event went to the Pemberton Animal Well-Being Society & there was an amazing amount of support from the community!

The Pemberton Animal Well-Being Society is a local, non-profit organization that was developed to provide support and relief to local animals in need. The shelter runs solely on donations provided to the community and relies heavily on volunteers to keep it going. As this organization is our only local animal rescue shelter in Pemberton, it was great to see how the community came out to the Santa PAWS Event to show its support!

AC Gas was happy to contribute 5 x $20 Gift Cards to the Santa PAWS Silent Auction as auction items.

The total amount raised by the event was $9,280.80! Such an amazing community effort for a local non-profit organization. Happy Holidays everyone!

This year, the legendary Pemberton Barn Dance was BACK! Held in Pemberton's new Downtown Barn on September 26th, the event hosted Dakota Pearl & the Chris Buck Band. The event SOLD OUT, with 400 attendees. Proceeds from the event went towards community projects run by the Pemberton Lions Club & Rotary International.

AC Gas & AC Petroleum donated 26 propane tanks for the event, which kept all of the heaters going for the night! We were proud to be a sponsor of this awesome community event, and were amazed by the turnout. Already counting down the days until next year! Yeehaw!

Golf Tournament Fundraiser

On September 17, the Pemberton & District Health Care Foundation held a golf tournament at Big Sky Golf Club to raise funds to support health care in the Pemberton Community and the Sea-to-Sky corridor. The Health Care Foundation is a non-profit charitable society, and funds raised are put towards both minor & major health care equipment, local senior and youth programs, health care programs & initiatives, renovations to the medical center, and education programs.

AC Petroleum & AC Gas were proud to sponsor a hole at this year's event. Our fuel drivers - Ian, Tank, and Rob - played in the tournament, as well as the head mechanic, Rhys, from our sister company Lizzie Bay Logging!

There was a total of 104 golfers in the tournament, and the Health Care Foundation managed to raised $26,000 overall! We are already getting excited for next year's tournament, which will be held on September 15, 2016!

Throwback to Canada Day

This year AC Petroleum & Lizzie Bay Logging joined in on the Canada Day celebrations in Pemberton! In the parade, we had an AC Petroleum fuel truck & a Lizzie Bay pickup truck clad with red & white balloons and Canadian flags. Some of our staff members even walked in the parade as well, and handed out beach balls from the back up of the pickup truck!

The parade came to an end at the Community Center, and the Post-Parade Celebration began! There was various tents set up with local businesses selling their fresh produce or handmade goods, live music, kids playing in the water park, games, and so much more. Our staff were at the AC Petroleum tent handing out AC & Lizzie Bay beach balls and AC tattoos, and selling ice cream bars from AC Gas. All proceeds from the sales of the ice cream bars were donated to the Pemberton Children's Center - & we ended up raising $250!

It was a great day, and these amazing photos from Amie at LeBlanc Studios made it even better.

Not to mention these photos of Alison's adorable son Rudi!

Slow Food Cycle Sunday

The Pemberton Slow Food Cycle is the ultimate Sunday Funday! This year, the 11th Annual Slow Food Cycle event was held in the Pemberton Valley, and people came from near and far to take part in the event. Tourism Pemberton describes the event perfectly - "a celebration of food, farmers, and the joys of biking!" The Cycle is 50km in total; participants can do it at their own pace, and can choose to do some or all of the route.

Local farms and vendors set up stands along Pemberton Meadows Road, and sold fresh produce, crafts, and delicious food and drinks- all the while providing endless entertainment for all of the cyclists as well! Mile One Eating House set up camp at Bob Mitchell's farm and had Pemberton Beef Burgers for sale. At Across the Creek Organics, owned by Bruce & Brenda Miller, they had a wide variety of tents set up - fresh flowers, Whistler Pierogies, homemade ice cream sandwiches, drinks and popsicles from the Pemberton Distillery, pies & sausage rolls, Purebread Whistler, and so many more! To top it all off they also had live music as well. At Eddie's Corner they also had plenty of stands set up, as well as a midday Wrestling Event! {Did I mention endless entertainment?}

The Slow Food Cycle is an amazing way to celebrate everything that Pemberton has to offer. Like their slogan says, the future of food is local!
